Blog #5 (Pandora)

The music source that I chose to listen to for this particular blog was Pandora. It is an online sit that anybody can listen to. All a guest of the site has to do is sign up for an account for personal pleasure. Pandora was thought and put together by a group that goes by the name “Music Genome Project.” After that is all said and done they can begin choosing songs to listen to. The groups of songs to choose from could follow a guide line of which artist, Genre, or time period the user enjoys listening to. Pandora is a website based product.
I used my friends Pandora account (which he is aware of) which hosted “True Country” songs. Artists such as: Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, Hank Williams, and David Allan Coe. His set list would attract both man and women of a wide variety of ages to listen to the list of songs. I would recommend Pandora to other people because we as listeners always try to customize the music selection at hand. It also is a great site because it has some similarities to iPod’s and many other MP3 players.
If anyone has any questions pertaining to the website they can contact Pandora by mail at 2101 Webster Street Suite 1650 Oakland CA 94612. The Chief Executive Officer & President of Pandora is Joe Kennedy.

Blog #3 (96.7FM)

The radio station that I listened to for this blog was 96.7 FM. The call letters are KHFI. The website is http://www.967kissfm.com/mediaplayer/?station=KHFI-FM&action=listenlive&channel_title=. The station is hosted in Georgetown, Texas. The music that is mostly on is Pop, Hip Hop, and R&B. I really enjoyed listening to the online radio station. I listened to the station in the conformability of my dorm room on the internet. The coverage area ranges from Houston to San Antonio in frequency. The DJ’s are short and sweet on the radio. They speak with purpose and friendly voices. The owner of the station is Bobby Jones. There are 5 DJ’s that take equal timed shifts. The underwriting featured only advertised them. The DJ’s announce to the listeners that they are listening to 96.7 FM.
The target audience is for teenage males and females. I would say that the music is more focused on urban titles. The station is very entertaining because the music featured is of my interest. A majority of the songs played are of my knowing and are of this time. In other words they are titles that are either brand new or two months old. I plan on listening to this station for a long time.
